Eliminate traditional messy ink when applying for California state regulatory boards or local employers. Your biometric images are encrypted and transmitted directly to the California Department of Justice and/or FBI according to the codes on your form.
How Live Scan Works
Follow these four simple steps for your California Live Scan appointment:
Get Your Form
Bring the Request for Live Scan Service form provided by the agency requesting your background check (pre-populated with agency ORI and mail code).
Bring Valid ID
Bring valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification required for your application (e.g. California Driver License, State ID, or U.S. Passport).
Capture Prints
A certified, trained technician captures your fingerprints electronically using state-of-the-art optical Live Scan equipment.
Submission
The transaction is submitted according to the requirements of the requesting agency and applicable California DOJ and FBI systems. You receive your stamped ATI receipt.
Live Scan May Be Used For
Important Agency Clarification
We capture and submit fingerprints; the requesting agency determines what background check is required and how the results are used. Results timing is managed by the California DOJ and FBI.
